How to clean articles of gold at home

clean-gold

If you want to make your gold jewelry sparkle like new, enjoy these tips. Several ways to clean gold with home remedies:

Method 1

water + dishwashing liquid

This is one of the simplest recipes for cleaning gold, but very effective. It requires water, any detergent (dishwashing liquid, liquid soap), and 15-20 minutes of your time.

For preparation:

– 1 cup of water

– 1 teaspoon of dishwashing detergent or liquid soap

Take a metal container, for example a small saucepan. Pour a little warm water, at the rate that the water completely covers the gold. Put the cloth on the bottom, and add detergent. Place your gold jewelry on the cloth, put the saucepan on the stove and boil for 5-10 minutes. Then, get your gold out of the water, rinse under running water and dry with a soft cloth.

Method 2

water + washing powder + ammonia

This cleaning agent for gold includes ammonia, and takes longer – 1-2 hours, but worth it.

For preparation:

– 1 cup of water

– 1 tablespoon of washing powder (detergent or dishwashing liquid soap)

– 1 teaspoon of ammonia

Take a glass bowl, pour very hot water (about 90-100 degrees), add washing powder and ammonia. Stir the mixture and put gold jewelry into the obtained cleaning solution. After 1-2 hours, get gold and rinse under running water. Dry with a soft cloth.

Method 3

water + ammonia + hydrogen peroxide + liquid soap

For the next recipe, in addition to the previous components, you should take a solution of hydrogen peroxide.

For preparation:

– 1 cup of water

– 30 ml of hydrogen peroxide (3%)

– 1 teaspoon of ammonia

– 1/2 teaspoon of liquid soap

For this recipe, you can take glass, ceramic or plastic bowl. Pour warm water, add hydrogen peroxide, ammonia and liquid soap in the proposed proportions. Stir thoroughly the solution. Put gold jewelry into the bowl for 10-15 minutes. Then, rinse the gold with running water and dry with a soft cloth.

Method 4

water + salt

This recipe is probably the easiest, but not fast.

For preparation:

– 1/2 cup water

– 2-3 tablespoons of salt

Any not very wide container will suit you for cleaning. Pour hot water, add salt and stir until dissolved. Put gold articles into the solution and leave overnight. In the morning, rinse your glistening gold with clean water.

Method 5

water + sugar

This similar way is as simple as the previous one, but sweet!

For preparation:

– 1 cup of water

– 2 tablespoons of sugar

The essence of preparation is the same – take any container, dissolve the sugar in the warm water. Put gold articles into the solution and leave for 8-12 hours (most convenient to do it overnight). In the morning, rinse the jewelry with clean water and rub with a soft cloth.

Method 6

water + soda + foil

Again, all the components are very simple – any hostess has them on hand.

For preparation:

– 1 cup of water

– 1-1.5 tablespoons of baking soda

– a piece of foil

First, you need to prepare a solution of hot water and soda. Then, take a container, lay the foil on the bottom and put your gold jewelry. Fill it by the prepared solution of water and baking soda, leave for 8 hours (of course it is more handy to do it before going to bed, ie overnight). In the morning, rinse the gold well in clean water.

Method 7

water + soda + detergent

If you replace the foil by detergent, it will speed up the process. You will need just about half an hour of time.

For preparation:

– 1 cup of water

– 1-1.5 tablespoons of baking soda

– 1/2 teaspoon of dishwashing detergent

Take a glass or metal container (a small saucepan). Put the cloth on the bottom, and place the jewelry. Then, you need to prepare a solution of abrupt boiled water, soda and detergent. Pour this mixture on your gold articles, and put on a small fire. Allow the solution to simmer for 15-20 minutes, or just let the water cool down (depending on the degree of contamination). Get gold and rinse with clean water.
