How to take a bath properly

bathBathtub is a place where you forget everything, where you can just relax and even fall asleep. Can you imagine it can be done improperly? Do you think this is not a serious question? What can be complicated here? Pour water, add the foam, lie down and enjoy! But there are rules for everything in this world! Even such an innocent action as taking a bath can be carried out in different ways.

Warm baths – the water temperature is 36-38 degrees. It is the most famous and comfortable option for taking bath. In such a bath you need to lie for 40 minutes.

Hot baths – the water temperature is above 39 degrees, and you should spend no more than 20 minutes in it, otherwise it harms the heart (it is recommended to lie so that the area of the heart was not in the water).

If you enjoy the lower temperatures (indifferent bath – 34-36 degrees, cool bath – about 30 degrees, and cold bath – about 20 degrees), remember, the duration of taking cold baths is only 5 minutes.

A few simple recommendations that you need to remember:

You should not take a bath immediately after meals (only after two hours).

You should not take a bath during menstruation (although it helps some women to cope with pain in the first day).

During the procedure, it should be warm the bathroom; the temperature must be not lower than 25 degrees. Avoid drafts.

Too long stay in the bathtub takes your strength instead of giving relax and filling you with energy.

During the bath, do not think about the negative, turn on pleasant music and dim the lights a little bit, or otherwise, read a magazine/book and drink a favorite beverage.

Use a special brush for the bath. This not only helps to clean the skin, but also improve blood circulation in the tissues. Make a light pleasant massage and just enjoy a stay in the water.

After the procedure, use a cream or lotion.

What can be added to the water?

Foam – the most popular thing that was invented for the bath. Its purpose – soap bubbles and aroma to bring you positive mood and pleasant thoughts. It is purely individual thing, distinguished by the variety of scents. There is one rule – before buying, carefully review the composition and choose with the least amount of chemical constituents.

Bath salts. Baths with the addition of salt are very useful for the prevention and treatment of certain diseases, they help to increase metabolism in the organism, to calm the nervous system and to cope with muscle pain. Do not forget that bath with salt has a tonic effect, so it is not recommended to take it at bedtime.

Essential oils are an alternative to any flavors for a bath, but with a therapeutic effect. The active ingredients of oils penetrate the skin and affect the body through the sense of smell.

Bath against colds – oils of lemon, rosemary, incense, peppermint, sandalwood, juniper, tea tree, lavender, chamomile, eucalyptus, fir, cedar or myrrh.

Bath for cheerfulness – oils of thyme, neroli, mandarin, lime, grapefruit, cardamom, lemon, bergamot, pine, orange, basil or juniper.

Bath for relaxation – oils of chamomile, lime blossom, lemon balm, ylang-ylang, lavender, jasmine or marjoram.

Before taking a bath with essential oils, you should take a shower and wash off cosmetics (it is recommended to use natural remedies). Add essential oil in a ratio of one drop of oil to 20 liters of water. Do not pour the oil just into the water in its pure form (it can cause irritation). First of all, you should dissolve oil in an emulsifier (you can use honey, milk, soda, sea salt, cream or kefir), and then add into the bath.

Herbs. All plants contain a variety of useful and active ingredients: minerals, tannins, phytoncides, vitamins and much more, so it is very helpful to breathe the smells of plants. You can make extracts at home, or buy the prepared ones in the store or pharmacy.

to restore the nervous system – a decoction of calendula, oregano, lime blossom and valerian.

to improve sleep and cure the common cold – a decoction of pine buds, yarrow, wormwood or oregano.

to get rid of headache – decoctions of mint and lavender.

to get rid of muscle pain – decoction of eucalyptus and sage.

Before you take a bath with herbs, make sure that you do not have allergies to these herbs.
